Accountability with Community-Based Support
Our program offers community service placement and court-ordered monitoring options, depending on the requirements of a person’s case. We partner with approved local nonprofit agencies to help participants complete community service in a setting that is safe, supervised, and appropriate for the individual’s needs.
Who We Serve
Alternative Sentencing services may be used for individuals who are sentenced by the Court, on probation, or subject to monitoring as a condition of bond, depending on the requirements of the case.
Community Service Placement
Participants may be assigned to complete community service through one of our approved nonprofit partner agencies. The goal is to place individuals in meaningful work that supports the community and aligns with court-ordered requirements.
What to expect:
- You may be asked to complete an intake/check-in process before placement
- Work assignments and schedules vary by agency and participant needs
- Hours must be completed based on deadlines set by the Court
Work Program
The Work Program is a voluntary option for individuals who are unable to afford payments on certain criminal and civil infraction cases. Eligible participants may receive a credit of $20 per hour worked toward eligible fines, court costs, and other assessments (restrictions apply).
Work Program participants follow the same guidelines and complete the same types of tasks as Community Service participants.

Electronic Monitoring Options
The Court may order electronic monitoring in place of, or in addition to, other sentencing requirements.
GPS Location Monitoring
A GPS ankle device tracks a person’s location. The Court may set location rules, including exclusion zones (areas the person is not permitted to enter). If an exclusion zone is entered, it may be reported to the Court.
SCRAM Alcohol Monitoring
SCRAM is an ankle device that continuously monitors for alcohol use by measuring alcohol that passes through the skin. It is used when the Court orders ongoing alcohol monitoring.
Soberlink Breath Testing
Soberlink is a portable breath testing device (about the size of a cell phone). The Court sets a testing schedule, and the person must provide breath samples as directed. The device includes a camera feature to support identity verification and test integrity.
