Grand Rapids, Michigan, April 14, 2026 – 61st District Court judges and staff members recently volunteered with three local nonprofits. The Court, an essential part of the City, provided valuable time to enhance the quality of life within the Grand Rapids community by working with 70×7 Life Recovery, Feeding America of West Michigan, and Meals on Wheels.
The Court’s coordinated effort helped 70×7 Life Recovery complete demolition and preparation work to advance a future recovery residence for individuals rebuilding stability in the community. Feeding America was able to package 2,250 pounds of food, providing 1,875 meals in the area, and Meals on Wheels packaged 1,964 meals for homebound seniors.
“Community service is an important part of the Court’s culture,” said Chief Judge Angela T. Ross. “Judges and staff believe that public service extends beyond the courtroom and into the neighborhoods and organizations that strengthen the community. Through initiatives like these, the 61st team continues to demonstrate its commitment to service, collaboration, and community well-being.”
The Court’s commitment to service continues.
