61st District Court Hosts Third Annual Community Job Fair to Promote Opportunity and Long-Term Stability

July 10, 2026

The 61st District Court is proud to host its third annual job fair, bringing together local employers, community resource organizations, and job seekers for a day focused on opportunity, connection, and long-term success. Join us at the Kent County Courthouse, 180 Ottawa Ave., NW, Grand Rapids, Michigan on Thursday July 16, 2026 from 12:00 until 3:00 PM.

Open to justice-involved individuals and the broader community alike, the event reflects the Court’s commitment to helping individuals build stable futures through meaningful employment and access to supportive resources. Attendees will have the opportunity to meet with a variety of local employers, including the City of Grand Rapids and Kent County, who are actively hiring, connect with organizations offering housing, education, transportation, workforce development, and other essential services, and learn about resources that can help remove barriers to employment.

The annual job fair is rooted in the belief that stable employment is one of the strongest foundations for long-term success. By connecting individuals with employers and community partners in one welcoming location, the Court hopes to support a safer, healthier community for everyone.

“At the 61st District Court, we recognize that lasting change happens when people are given meaningful opportunities and the support they need to succeed,” said Chief Judge Angela Ross. “This job fair reflects our commitment to helping individuals move forward, whether they have been involved in the justice system or are simply looking for their next opportunity. When we invest in people through employment and community partnerships, we strengthen our entire community.”

The 61st District Court extends its gratitude to the many local employers and community organizations whose participation makes this event possible. Their willingness to invest in people and create pathways to employment demonstrates the power of collaboration in building stronger, more resilient communities.

The Court welcomes all job seekers to attend and encourages anyone looking for employment, career resources, or support services to take advantage of this free community event.
