Magistrate Steven Brunink

Before joining the 61st District Court, Magistrate Steven Brunink worked as a lawyer at the Kent County Office of the Defender. During his 16-year tenure there, he provided legal representation to indigent individuals facing both felony and misdemeanor charges. Additionally, Magistrate Brunink has been serving as an adjunct professor in the Criminal Justice Department at Grand Rapids Community College for the past 18 years and is still actively teaching. Before working at the Office of the Defender, he practiced law in the private sector for 2 years.
