Judge Brian O. Neill

Background
Brian O. Neill was appointed to the 61st District Court by Governor Gretchen Whitmer in July of 2023.
Neill previously served as an Assistant Attorney General with the Michigan Department of Attorney General primarily handling state and federal appeals, federal habeas petitions, and gaming issues, as well as providing legal counsel to the Gaming Control Board, Office of Race Commissioner, and Bureau of State Lottery. He subsequently joined the Bureau of State Lottery where he served as legal counsel, administrator, and chief deputy before being appointed director of the agency in 2018.
Education
Neill earned his bachelor’s degree from the University of Michigan Dearborn and his Juris Doctor from Ohio Northern University College of Law.
